Founded in memory of Maria Regina Avila, a Cuban immigrant who fled communist Cuba and dedicated half of her life in the United States to helping others by giving advice in her acclaimed column that was distributed throughout the U.S. and Latin America. She would later battle eight years of Alzheimer's before passing away in July 2021 at the age of 78. Our mission at Mary’s House is to offer seniors who can no longer care for themselves, a safe and secure environment that is parallel to the nurturing that is received in a devoted family environment.
